What is happening to remove.bg?
remove.bg has been part of Canva since 2021. According to the banner and FAQ on remove.bg, the standalone website will no longer be available from 1 December 2026 at 9:00 CET, and its background removal is moving into the Canva platform.
remove.bg points API users to Leonardo.ai, which Canva also owns. If you used remove.bg for quick one-off cutouts without an account, that workflow ends with the website.
